WEEK # 1 RATTLE SNAKE MOTORDROME- DNF
Nick Berry proved to be the fastest car last Saturday night at the Rattlesnake
autodrome but misfortune struck the NBR MOTORSPORTS team again as it has plagued the team in previous seasons.
Nick Berrys car was no doubt twice as fast as the competition with his Murphy and Co.
race engine as he would start 5th on the grid and take the lead on lap one and lead up until a caution on lap number twenty
two where race leader, Nick Berry would pit under the caution with Oil Pressure problems. The green would drop and the field
would race into turn number one with Nick Berry still sitting in the pits, When looked as if Berry would go a lap down, Nick
would race his way out of the pit area and back onto the speedway 3/4 of a lap down!
Nick would catch back up to the field and race his way back up to the front where trouble would
strike again for berry on lap 43 out of the 50 lap main event and would eventually end the evening for Nick Berry with a broken
Left Rear Hub Assembly.
WEEK # 2 RACE # 2 CANAAN DIRT SPEEDWAY DNF
Nick Berry had a good strong evening going for himself starting last spot being
a new driver to the facility in 2009 at the Canaan Dirt Speedway, Nick Berry made a hard charge from the back up
to a solid top 5 finish when Jason Sanville would spin in front of him and nick would collect him along with Toby Stark getting
involved in the incident sandwhiching the # 33 machine of Nick Berry and ending his evening. (Prior to the accident in turn
3 and 4 of the Canaan Dirt Speedway, Nick Berrys Murphy and Co. Engine once again lost oil pressure and engine was flat)
WEEK # 2 RACE # 3 RATTLESNAKE MOTORDROME DNF
Nick Berry went out with a bang last Saturday
night as he blew his new Murphy and Co. Race Engine up prior to the drop of the 25 lap main event...
Nick was excited going into the main event as he was only (1) one point out of the points lead but
after trouble struck, Nick is out of the points contentions all together as he sits (19) nineteen points away from the current
points leader, Dave Sanville.
WEEK # 3 RATTLESNAKE MOTORDROME 1st
Nick Berry tamed the Rattlesnake as he would take a popular victory over the competition
at the Rattlesnake Motordrome Speedway last Saturday night by over a half a lap lead....
Nick would like to thank everyone involved for helping the team
get a new motor and get it in the car and get back onto the track Saturday night, Without all of you, The team wouldnt be
out there and where we are today, Thank You!
WEEK # 4 RATTLESNAKE MOTORDROME 4th
Nick Berry would have to
start at the rear of the field this week for winning the prior week before. Though Nick did make it up through the field with
a respectable top 5 finiish, finishing in the 4th spot for the night, Nick stressed the car just sounds different and has
lost power, fearing for the worst as the team has already been plagued with engine trouble this season the team looked into
the problem after the event had concluded, They discovered two (2) broken push rods....
Week # 5 RATTLESNAKE MOTORDROME 2nd
After finding the teams lack for HP the previous week Nick had
his grandfathers brother Busky come over and handle the situation. Busky installed two (2) new push rods in the engine,
adjusted the valves and set the timing..... Boy was that a step into the right direction! With all the work performed
on the car as well as the engine, Nick showed up to the race track late and was forced to start last in his heat race.
Though nervous with the 96 machine starting on the pole and Nick having to start last he admits he was a bit worried on cathing
the 96 of "racin" Jason Sanville. When the green dropped Nick began making his way to the front quickly and making
it look easy from the back to the front and would soon catch the leader Jason Sanville.... Sanville pushed a little coming
off turn number two at the rattle snake motordrome and thats all it would take for Nick Berry to cruise on by for the win.
The feature would see the same two battle up front as Nick and Jason would race door to door for several laps until Nick Berry
would have to let off and let the 96 take off as Nick Berry's car began over heating and at that point, Just wanted to finish
the race! So at the checkered it would be "racin" Jason Sanville for the win, "quick" Nick Berry for second, and rounding
out the top three would be Brad Shanks in the # 4F.
WEEK # 6 VICTORY LANE SPEEDWAY
1st
(Friday)
Friday night Canaan Dirt Speedway was rained out so Nick and the family headed down to Maine for an Indoor karting event where
Nick Berry would start their 100 lap Friday night rumble event, Nick started in the 6th posistion quickly making his way to
the front and would never look back as he would go onto win the 100 lap main event over some talented professional go kart
drivers, NEMA midget racers and Asphalt latemodel drivers, Nick would claim the checkered and the trophy and be crowned the
Friday night Rumble Champion in Portland, Maine-
WEEK # 6 RATTLESNAKE MOTORDROME 1st
(Saturday) Nick Berry would make his way to the front quickly
in the heat race and set the pace with a half track lead over the rest of the competitors when a yellow flag would wave for
the # 96 of Jason Sanville as he would spin out in turn 1 and 2. The race would resume with Nick Berry in pole posisition
(1st) just to have the yellow wave again as the flagman (not mentioning any names) put Nick Berry to the rear of the field
for "jumping" a restart.
well my friend you certainly have alot to learn about racing if you want to take on the posistion
of being a flagman and taken seriously for the matter.... When a driver is on the pole, EVERYONE knows they set the pace at
the start of the race, Its just a known fact....
Moving onto the main event, "Quick" Nick Berry started on the outside pole for the feature
event that would run green to checkered and again pulled over a half a lap lead and go onto win the 25 lap main event at the
RATTLESNAKE MOTORDROME, finishing in second would be the #96 of "Racin" Jason Sanville and rounding out the top three would
be the # 90 machine of Lee Hughes.
WEEK # 7 BEAR RIDGE SPEEDWAY
8th
Well the Rattlesnake Motordrome cancelled the event for Saturday night
for so called weather in the area but when arriving to the speedway it was bright and sunny. The gates were closed so we proceeded
onward to Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, VT where we had a very delightful time and felt very welcomed. We plan to
race there again next weekend!
Nick was a bit reluctant to going to the Bear Ridge Speedway at first not knowing
if their back up motor had enough to get the job done over at the ridge but they went anyway, The "little" motor surprised
Nick as he would start the first heat in the 7th pos. and quickly make his way up to the 3rd spot before the # 26 of Jermey
Huntoon and Nick Berry # 33 would come together as Huntoon would bash his way by as apparently it was a much needed point
for him- Nick would finish fourth (4th) in his heat. Since Nick was new to the speedway he would start at the rear of
the field for the feature out of the 14 car field. Nick was making his way to the front and had a good top 5 finish
going for him as he was doing battle with the # 181 of Blake Sheppard and # 1NH of Jack Cook but with 2 laps to go would see
the # 181 of Sheppards car spin in front of Berry and collecting him. Berry and sheppard would start at the tail end of the
field with two to go and Nick would make some bold moves to take a top 10 finish as he would cross the line in the 8th pos.
for the evening.
WEEK # 8 BEAR RIDGE SPEEDWAY RAINED OUT
Tonight we made the long tow to
Bear Ridge and were happy to see the bright sunny skies when we arrived but with previous rains the track conditions were
far worse then expected and just wasn't worth taking the chance on tearing up $ 30,000 dollar modifieds to run through the
heavy clay and slop that the modifieds would have had to race through, So the management and Bear Ridge Speedway Modified
drivers elected not to work the track in and call it an evening and try it again next week!
WEEK #9 BEAR RIDGE SPEEDWAY/ RATTLESNAKE MOTORDROME RAINED OUT
Nick Berry and team made the tow to compete at BEAR RIDGE SPEEDWAY but as they were
heading further north, the skies began to get darker and darker... So at this point the NBR MOTORSPORTS team predicted more
then likely the surrounding speedways would be canceled and to save gas decided to pull into the RATTLESNAKE MOTORDROME in
hopes if their was any racing going on at all, they would run their instead of wasting anymore time or gas just to get rained
out which eventually, THEY DID GET RAINED OUT!
